SESSION TYPES
I have found I love capturing families through two different session types. I love capturing families in their homes. This may be you welcoming a newborn into your family or just documenting this season in life. We can also step outside and do some in your yard or even play in the driveway. This works well for families with younger children who may need a few more breaks, or for kids and families who love being indoors.
The second way I capture families is an outdoor session. This could be exploring a new place or doing your favorite activity. This works well with kids (and parents) who love adventure and are okay with getting dirty.
Please note: at this time I do not do extended family sessions and mini sessions are only done as group blocks 1-2 times a year.
TRUST
It all begins with trust.
You have maybe had family photos taken before (or maybe this is your first time) but this may feel a bit different. Being in front of a camera is never the most comfortable, you can get in your head quite a bit about what the photo might look like. This is where trust comes in. The experience is about connection, no commands to smile, just real fun, real smiles, and sometimes some real tears. Trust that I am there to capture this amazing time in your lives and your only job is to connect with one another. Trust that you will look back on these photos with so much love.
ALIGNED APPROACH
It is so so important for us to be on the same page of the approach. There are some key tips we will go over ahead of the session to ensure that we are all clear on what the session will entail as well as how to handle different situations that might come up. Honestly I have seen it all (and have lived through the toddler years with my own). I have found this approach can foster an amazing environment to connect with your family and that leads to creating the best images to look back on.
LIMITED AVAILABILITY
I love to create but also want to ensure I am on the same page as those I create with. I do not have an open-book calendar because I want to ensure I am a great fit before we start the process of booking. Please ensure before reaching out you have reviewed everything about the experience and that you fill in the inquiry form with all the details so that I can understand what you are interested in. Once I understand if I will be a great fit for your needs, I will send you additional information to book.
YOUR WHY
Through my inquiry form and process of getting to know you, I will want to to understand what you love to do as a family and a bit more about how you want to remember this time in your lives. This can be as simple as playing a game, exploring a new place, playing at the beach or in the snow. When you look back on the photos, it won’t be just about how you showed up and were dressed, it will be about remember what you loved to do and the memories that go with that
